Honk honk!!!! Thar she blows!!!! Hard to compare it directly with other days, but surely that must have been the windiest day since I've been here.... At a guess, it was blowing consistently over 30 knots all the time, with some gusts that felt like a lot more.

The wind kicked in early around 10am, allowing me to go out early again whilst the tide was still low (11.30am). Mahussively stacked on my 4.6, but it coped admirably with the job, and I was never so overpowered on it to be out of control. The lovely little super-controllable wave board under my feet probably helped quite a lot. The more I sail that board, the more I like it. The nuking conditions meant I couldn't do much apart from the usual, i.e. a few big jumps (which kept on getting bigger and more regular as the wind kept on increasing through the session), a few OK gybes and a few attempted wave-rides. So, again, nothing new learnt or achieved, but who cares when you're scaring yourself silly in winds as strong as this....
